About Journey

This Lent will marks our 28th year of presenting

The Journey, Cross and Crucifixion is a journey back through time. It is an opportunity to walk with Christ and become one with Him and the people who walked with Him. For many who have shared the Journey it is almost as if it were happening now for the first time.

The music, narration, dialogue and poignant silences all add to the power of this prayerful meditation. To be part of The Journey, Cross and Crucifixion is to experience the complete and utter frustration and devastation of Mary, the frustration of Simon, the loneliness and desolation of John, Pilate’s struggle between justice and expediency, the excruciating pain and degradation Jesus suffered on the way to Calvary and His ultimate death on the Cross.

For the past twenty five years, the troupes have been presenting this powerful Journey to churches and schools throughout Long Island, leading people of all ages in a powerful, prayerful Lenten experience. The troupes are made up of volunteer actors, singers and musicians who use their gifts to bring the Passion Story to life.

Biblical actors, singers and dancers needed!!

We have already booked over 35 churches for 2014 and we are in the midst of finalizing plans with a another. If you enjoy singing or have a background in choral singing from years gone by we need you.

In addition to singers, we are in special need of dancers with a background in modern dance or ballet, men to play soldiers and men to play the role of Jesus (long hair preferred but not required, need slender build and caring attitude). We hope that you will be able to join us for this special program. Don’t forget to invite your friends. Also need musicians who play flute, violin, guitar,, piano or bass.

Age: Adults and High School Students, children 5th grade and older are welcome if parent is also joining as a member of the cast.

Below is a rehearsal schedule for Journey 2014. Since most of this program requires strong vocals,

The first two rehearsals are for the learning of music. Specific speaking roles and solos will be cast

after the 2nd rehearsal. It is most important for all new and old Troupe Members to attend most of the scheduled rehearsals.  Strongly encourage you to bring along some type of recording device to record your vocals at each rehearsal.
