COVID-19 Updates

Reopening Information

Dear CM Community,

Just ten days shy of one year ago, we had to temporarily shut our doors due to the onset of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.  In the midst of a tech week, everything stopped.  Set pieces still on stage, costumes still hanging on racks, props still on the prop table.  At the time, we thought the temporary closure would only last a few weeks.  Little did we know that a year later our stage would still be dark.  With this week’s news of arts & entertainment restrictions being partially lifted, we can finally announce what we’ve been waiting a full year to say – “CM Performing Arts Center is Safely Reopening“.  While we had been hoping to say those seven words for many months, saying them now is even more exciting, emotional, and meaningful.

Arts & Entertainment venues are allowed to reopen in New York on April 2nd.  This seems more than coincidental because April 2nd is Good Friday this year.  We can think of nothing more appropriate to reopen the organization than with presentations of Journey Cross & Crucifixion.  This  is how Creative Ministries began 34 years ago, a staple of CM history that tells the story of how immense darkness can turn into hopeful light through faith, love, and community.

We hope you’ll consider joining us for a very special presentation of Journey Cross & Crucifixion this Good Friday, for our upcoming spring series of shows, and for the launch of our 47th Main Stage season this summer!

Sincerely,

Looking ahead to 2021

Dear CM Community,

While this year did not turn out the way we expected, we are so proud of everything we accomplished together.  Whether you purchased a ticket to one of our shows, attended an interactive experience, tuned in to one of our virtual programs, made a donation, performed, volunteered, or simply cheered us along, you were an integral part of CM’s success this year.  This past year has forced us to use our creativity in new and innovative ways. Please see our 2020: A Year in Review video below for some highlights of all we have achieved this year in face of unprecedented challenges.

2020: Year in Review

As the year comes to a close, we are so excited for everything we have in store for 2021.  As we await reopening guidelines from New York State, we must delay our Season 47 Main Stage lineup until we can open for shows at a larger capacity.  We have such an exciting selection of shows for this season and we would never want to compromise the production quality you’ve come to expect at CM nor would we want to raise ticket prices in a way that would make live local theatre unaffordable for our valued audiences.  Our Main Stage Season 47 will open July 31, 2021.  In the meantime, we have a complete selection of musicals, interactive experiences, classes, workshops, and other entertaining shows lined up for the beginning of the year.

Important Information Regarding Your Tickets!

Dear ticket holders,

In these challenging times, the thing that keeps us going at CM is thinking about welcoming you back into the theatre soon.  We work each day in anticipation of opening the lobby doors, dimming the house lights, and hearing the overture start to play.  We know you’re looking forward to settling into your seat for our upcoming productions of Holiday Inn, Matilda, Elf the Musical, or On Your Feet as well!

Because theatres have not been able to reopen as quickly as we had anticipated and hoped, we have made a few scheduling changes to our upcoming season.  While some performance dates have moved around, what has not changed is our commitment to offering Broadway-quality entertainment at affordable prices for the entire family.  All Season 47 show titles will go on as previously announced.  Please check the chart below to see if your ticketed performance date has changed.  All ticket holders will be automatically emailed new eTickets over the next week, there is nothing you need to do on your part to receive your new tickets.  If your performance has changed and you’d like to switch to an alternate performance date, we would be happy to assist you.  Kindly call our box office at (631) 218-2810 or email [email protected].

We are anxiously looking forward to handing you a playbill and inviting you to “enjoy the show!”  Until then, be sure to check out our Facebook page and Youtube Channel for virtual content being produced by our performers and artistic team, and be sure to check out our newly launched CM Website where you can find the latest news on all things CM!

Sincerely,
Alyse Arpino

A Message from the Executive Director

Dearest Patrons,

One week from this evening, we were looking forward to welcoming you into our home here at the CM Performing Arts Center with our production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn.

Unfortunately, during these unprecedented times, we had to halt our entire production. Once the all clear is given and it is safe for everyone to return, our cast will be ready to bring you the Broadway quality productions you are used to right here on Long Island.

For the past 33 years, CM has faced many hardships in which we adapted and overcame them with the help of supporters like you. While our productions are paused, our organization still has bills to pay to ensure that once we are able to open the doors again, we will be ready to welcome you back into our home.

We know these times are difficult for many of you, but we ask you during this time to help us keep the Impossible Dream going.

If you follow this link, it will take you to our GoFundMe campaign. Those who have the ability to donate, we thank you for your support. We also ask that you help spread the message by sharing the link to your Social Media for those who are willing to Support The Arts here at the CM Performing Arts Center: https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/cmperformingartscenter

Sincerely,
Alyse Arpino
